The Haida Gwaii Project is a joint venture between Perkins+Will and KRA. The new facility enables Northern Health to deliver client focused healthcare services in a modernized environment that will improve outcomes for patients. 

​

The architectural design is site specific and responsive to the Haida Gwaii climate and culture. It is complementary in both expressions and materials selection with the large roof planes, the use of wood and durable materials that are long lasting.

A key feature of the facility is the integration and collaboration with Haida Gwaii First Nations. This includes a new Ceremony Room on site which has been designed by local artisans to replicate a traditional long house. The major design expression and interior way finding elements integrates First Nation art.
